Several weeks ago, with encouragement from a friend and fellow artist, I submitted an entry for a juried exhibition at the Evoke Gallery. Her advice was straight forward and honest. If you enter you will get rejected sometimes and accepted sometimes. But you have to try or you will never get in. With that in mind, I sent in my application and waited. Yesterday I was notified the following three pieces had been excepted
The exhibit will coincide with the show Metamorphosis: The Life Cycle of a Glass Bead sponsored by the International Society of Glass Beadmakers (ISGB). Metamorphosis has traveled from the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the Evoke Gallery in St. Paul, Minnesota. Both shows (i.e. Evoke's Wearable Art and Glass Art, ISGB's Metamorphosis) will be on exhibit from July 23 – September 8, in the Evoke Gallery.
Mine will not be the only work arriving from San Antonio, Texas. Glass bead artist Nina “Sam” Hibler has pieces in both the ISGB and Evoke sponsored shows. Congratulations Sam and thanks for the encouragement.
