Intimacy - Time & Temperature

To work with glass successfully it is essential to understand the intimate play of time and temperature. Together they create a work energy the enables one to achieve specific results. I must understand this relationship to know how it will impact my piece. If I focus on just time or just temperature, without understanding the gentle balance, the entire process will fail often in dramatic fashion. The intimate relationship between the two is a conversation, for which I provide the direction.

Melanie does that to people...gives them an enticement to cross boundaries. cool collage and very cool thoughts about relationships between materials/dimensions. we do orchestrate the conversation.

I know nothing about making glass, so I'm so happy you wrote this! Some day I hope I'll have the opportunity to try this wonderful way of making art... Thanks for sharing :)

Reflecting on your post it makes me think that the time/temp thing is more present than I first thought. For instance, in the winter my mood is handled by the delicate control of heater and open window. I tend to the extremes with temperature, because it is so refreshing to wobble well.

I like the play of the key and clock, the words and numbers, how they are seperate components that when intimate with each other create something beautiful, your work. Very Nice,
